Certification brief:
development of
Initially, the CB system was initiated by the CEE (former European National Electrical Equipment Qualification Testing Commission) and incorporated in IEC in 1985. The IECEE CB system is the first truly international system for mutual recognition of electrical product safety test reports. Each country's national certification body (NCB) forms a multilateral agreement whereby the manufacturer can obtain national certification from other member states of the CB system by virtue of a CB test certificate issued by the NCB.
CB system based on international IEC standards. If the national standards of some Member States are not yet fully consistent with the IEC standard, but also allow the existence of national differences, but should be announced to other members. The CB system uses the CB test certificate to verify that the product sample has successfully passed the appropriate tests and complies with the relevant IEC requirements and the requirements of the Member States concerned.
CB's main goal is to promote international trade by promoting harmonization of national and international standards as well as cooperation of product certification bodies, so that manufacturers closer to the ideal "one test, a number of applicable" target.
the term
IECEE stands for "The IEC System for Conformity Testing and Certification of Electrical Equipment" - "International Electrotechnical Commission for Electrical Product Qualification Testing and Certification". The official name of the CB system is "Scheme of the IECEE for Mutual Recognition of Test Certificates for Electrical Equipment" - "IECEE Electrotechnical Test Certificate Mutual Recognition System". CB system abbreviation name means "Certification Bodies' Scheme" - "certification body system".
System scope
The products covered by the CB system are products within the IEC standard recognized by the IECEE system. When more than three Member States declare that they want and support a standard to join the CB system, the new IEC standard will be adopted CB system. The IEC standards used are published in the CB Bulletin and the IECEE website.
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is not included in the CB system unless it is specifically required by the IEC standard used. However, the CB system has begun investigating their members' willingness to conduct EMC measurements with safety testing. The results of this study will be published in the CB on the theme of the communique.
