Photobiological safety

Can you make sure that the lights and lights you produce are safe? In the past, you might think that these are only related to safety and electromagnetic compatibility testing, and now, to be included in the standard and the light biosafety of this element. It is well known that excessive radiation can cause eye and skin diseases.

The photobiological safety standard IEC / EN 62471 evaluates the optical radiation hazards of various lamps or other broadband light sources. In the standard, the full-wave test range is 200nm to 3000nm, including ultraviolet, visible and infrared. In addition to the requirements for the energy level of the product, the requirements of photobiology including radiant intensity, radiant intensity and so on are added, and the products are graded according to the test data, including the exemption level, low hazard, medium hazard and high hazard level. IEC / EN62471 mainly for the measurement of light in a wide band, and the human eye and skin response to light time, angle, sensitivity and other aspects of the calculation.

Applicable product range

All lights and light systems except laser. It is not only the LED lights to make the appropriate provisions of the product range also covers the incandescent, fluorescent, gas discharge lamp, arc lamp and other lighting products. EU Regulation 244/2009 on energy efficiency requirements for non-directional lamps for domestic use also specifies that tests on UV levels (UVA / UVB / UVC) shall be performed in accordance with IEC / EN 62471 (including energy saving lamps / incandescent / halogen lamps).
